Piercing Wire Connectors
There are two clamps, one is clamped on the main trunk cable, and the other is on the branch wire and cable. There is a copper piercing conductor in the clamp.
For multi-core cables, the outer sheath of the cable must be stripped to expose the core wire inside (the insulation layer of the core wire does not need to be stripped).
Clamp the puncture clip with one clip on the main trunk line, and thread the branch line into the other clip. Tighten the screw tightly to tighten the clamp, and the
clamp must be in contact with the piercing conductor into the core wire so that the insulation layer and the core wire are in contact with the conductor. The branch
can use cables or wires, depending on how you want to lead.
What is the difference between a Piercing Wire Connectors and a T terminal?
Both the Piercing Wire Connectors and the T-connected terminal need to strip the outer sheath of the cable, but the Piercing Wire Connectors does not need to
strip the insulation layer of each core of the cable, and the T-connected terminal needs to strip the insulation layer of each core of the cable.
The contact surface of the Piercing Wire Connectors is small, the firmness is poor, and the construction is simple and quick.
The contact surface of the T-connect terminal is large, the installation is firm and reliable, and the construction is relatively difficult.
Can Piercing Wire Connectors be used for directly buried cables?
Insulation Piercing Wire Connectors are mainly used for overhead lines, low-voltage entry line cable branches, and for street lamps and tunnel power distribution
system cable branches. Although the manufacturer says it can be waterproof, it is estimated to be waterproof in the air, but it may not be able to withstand long-term
underwater Soak. Waterproofing for underground direct-buried cable branch applications is a problem, especially if it is immersed in groundwater for a long time.
It is certainly not reliable for pre-branch cables. If it is really used, it must be strengthened waterproof treatment to ensure that no water enters, otherwise the
reliability and safety cannot be guaranteed.
