A new “ultra-quiet” offshore wind piling technology will be used in offshore wind projects in the Netherlands.

Ecowende, an offshore wind power development company jointly established by Shell and Eneco, signed an agreement with local

Dutch technology start-up GBM Works to apply the “Vibrojet” piling technology developed by the latter in the Hollandse Kust

West Site VI (HKW VI) project.

The word “Vibrojet” is composed of “vibro” and “jet”. As the name suggests, it is essentially a vibrating hammer, but it also has

a high-pressure jet spray device. The two less noisy piling methods are combined to form this new technology.

Since Vibrojet technology not only involves the piling itself, but also its jet spraying device must be deployed at the bottom of the

single pile in advance. Therefore, GBM will work closely with Ramboll, the single pile designer, Sif, the manufacturer, and Van Oord,

the constructor of the HKW VI project, hoping to It was successfully applied to an actual offshore wind power project for the first time.

GBM Works was established in 2016 and has been focusing on the research and promotion of Vibrojet. It has been tested in multiple projects.
