Pakistan’s Minister of Electricity, Hulam Dastir Khan, said recently that the construction of the Pakistan-China Economic
Corridor has promoted the two countries to become in-depth economic cooperation partners.

Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the Launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and 1,000 Days of Successful
Live Operation of the Project” in Lahore, Punjab Province, Eastern Pakistan Since the corridor was launched 10 years ago,
the friendship between Pakistan and China has continued to deepen, and the two countries have been upgraded to
all-weather strategic cooperative partners. The Murah DC Transmission Project is a witness of the friendship between
Pakistan and China.
Dasteqir Khan said that he visited various energy projects in Pakistan under the corridor and witnessed Pakistan’s severe
power shortage situation 10 years ago to today’s energy projects in various places providing safe and stable power supply
for Pakistan. Pakistan thanks China for promoting Pakistan’s economy develop.
The Murah DC Transmission Project is invested, constructed and operated by the State Grid Corporation of China, and is
the first high-voltage DC transmission project in Pakistan. The project will be officially put into commercial operation in
September 2021. It can transmit more than 30 billion kWh of electricity every year, and can provide stable and high-quality
electricity for about 10 million local households.
