Kazakhstan has started exchanging foreign transport permit documents with China in electronic form, which will
simplify the process of exporting goods.
In a message posted on its Telegram channel, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transportation wrote: “The exchange of foreign
transport permit documents with China has been switched to electronic form. A foreign transport permit document
is a document that allows a transport company to carry cargo out of the country. In the test mode, a trial run has been
conducted through the first batch of freight vehicles. After successful testing, the electronic system will be put into full
operation. The introduction of electronic documents minimizes the process of cargo transportation.”
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, a record number of cargo permit documents have been exchanged
between Kazakhstan and China, totaling 190,000 copies. During consultations between the relevant authorities of the
two sides, an agreement was reached on the exchange of an additional 40,000 foreign transport permit documents,
some of which have been completed through the new electronic system.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transportation noted that over the past two years, the exchange of permit documents between
the two countries has increased from 50,000 to 230,000 documents.
Overall, the participation of Kazakhstan’s transport companies in international road transportation is growing from 31%
in 2021 to 52% in 2023,” the Ministry of Transportation concluded. To date, Kazakhstan has exchanged foreign transport
permit documents with 42 countries worldwide. The total number of exchanges this year is a record 364,705.”
According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and China reached a record
$36.5 billion from January to October this year, up 11 percent from the same period last year.
